After conviction many sentences include Probation or Parole as a condition of release. Probation or Parole may be run by the state or by a private, profit driven, corporation. Proper relations with your court monitor and compliance with the court’s orders are very important but issues do arise during these long terms of observation. It is very important to have someone "in your corner" if there is ever a problem. An experienced advocate will be able communicate to the judge or hearing officer the specifics of your individual situation which could include employment and family issues or even problems with other jurisdictions and charges.
